Which Macs does Unhurried work on?
Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
Can people on a call see the prompter?
Only if you share your whole screen. macOS doesn’t let apps reliably hide themselves from screen sharing, so Unhurried doesn’t pretend to. Share a single window or app instead, and Share Safe will remind you when a meeting or recording app is on screen.
How do I change the speed while I’m prompting?
Press ↑ to go a little faster and ↓ to go a little slower. Space pauses and carries on, ← and → move back or forward a line, and ⌘R starts again from the top. Unhurried remembers your pace for next time.
How do I change the Quick Prompt shortcut?
Open Settings and choose Quick Prompt. The default is ⌥P. On macOS 15.0 and 15.1, which didn’t allow Option-only shortcuts, it’s ⌃⌥P.
Where are my scripts stored?
On your Mac, in Unhurried’s own folder. They aren’t synced to other devices. See the privacy policy for details.
I deleted the sample scripts. Can I get them back?
Yes. Open Settings and choose Restore Sample Scripts. It only adds back the ones that are missing, and never touches your own scripts.
I can’t see the snail in my menu bar.
If your menu bar is full, especially on a Mac with a notch, macOS hides the items that don’t fit. Quit or hide a few other menu bar apps, or open Unhurried from the Dock or Spotlight instead. You can also turn the menu bar icon off in Settings.
Does Gaston’s Trail count words if I skip ahead?
No. Only words that scroll past at your pace count, so jumping ahead or rewinding doesn’t move Gaston.
